TYE4®

It's no secret that Joseph Pilates (a genius, who created the method) has developed not only a unique system of exercise, but also equipment, because he wanted his system to work for everybody. Reformer, Cadillac, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Wanda Chair still have a central place in all Pilates studios around the world. Despite the versatility of the existing accessories and studio equipment, the system is open to all new novelties.

Tye4 is a wearable resistance/assistance system that was invented by Joan Breibart, who is a Founder & President of Physical Mind Institute. Originally developed for standing Pilates exercises, it helps improve balance and posture.
The Tye4® is resistance training equipment that is worn on the body as a small harness with specially designed thin bungee cords that attach to the arms and feet.

As any other equipment used in Pilates, TYE4® can be an Enemy or a Friend, providing support or creating resistance. You may use the support provided by TYE4® with your beginner clients who know little about Pilates as this small system helps to feel the exercise, gives your client information as to where his or her body is at the moment, sets the correct axis for body alignment and movement, and helps you spot mistakes in biomechanics.
Tye4 provides the support and structure necessary to overcome past injuries and prevent further issues thanks to the closed chain work it creates.

For the experienced clients TYE4® is a great tool for making the exercise more difficult to perform. Wearing Tye4 is like wearing a Reformer: resistance is felt all over your body and can reach almost 20 pounds on both sides! On the other hand, this system can assist you in some tricky Pilates moves as Teaser or Roll Over.

Currently, there are over 20 different variants of the system, but they are similar in one thing: they are easy to wear and easy to adjust according to body shape. 2 minutes and you're ready to getting the most out of each Pilates exercise on the mat, standing or on any of the Pilates studio equipment.
